Leica Q Long Exposures

I fumbled around in the dark trying to work out how to best setup my camera for some night long exposures. I managed to max out the shutter speed at 8 seconds, then tried bulb mode which cut off at 7 seconds – this is odd I thought.

Turns out this is a limitation of the Leica Q, when the camera is set to ISO 1600 the maximum exposure time is 8 seconds, at ISO 800 it’s 16 seconds and ISO 400 it’s 30 seconds. I didn’t realise this at the time, but it wasn’t much of a bother, I managed exposures I was happy with.

I present to you, Waverley Abbey.

F1.7, 8 seconds exposures at ISO 1600.
